Systems Engineer
Overwatch Network Defense is seeking a Systems Engineer: a motivated individual who will be responsible for defining, designing and developing system requirements. They also may provide support and direction for user groups in the use of the software/hardware systems and programs to support an integrated system.
The Systems Engineer assesses architecture and current hardware limitations, defines and designs system specifications, input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility. May perform a variety of systems engineering tasks and activities that are broad in nature and are concerned with major systems design, integration, and implementation, including personnel, hardware, software, budgetary, and support facilities and/or equipment. Able to perform causal analysis or process improvement on existing processes according to established frameworks. Participate in, and occasionally lead, temporary or standing Integrated Process Teams to achieve business goals.
The Systems Engineer may also provide quality assurance review and the evaluation of new and existing software and hardware products. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. May also evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services. Duties may include managing long-term IT engineering projects, develop, implement, and monitor information systems policies and controls to ensure data accuracy, security, and regulatory compliance. Review reports of computer and peripheral equipment production, malfunction, and maintenance to determine and address problems in a timely manner.
Key Requirements and Responsibilities
- Must have an ACTIVE Secret Clearance
- Must have Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of Relevant Experience
- Project support to ensure identified tasks and subtasks are performed efficiently, accurately, on time and in compliance with requirements
- Assist with identifying program priorities, deliverables, and meets/exceeds Customer and Program objectives
- Proper execution of application software and documentation of test results in test logs or defect tracking systems
- Assist with the development of enhancements and capabilities and make recommendations that fully supported customer requirements and ensure Project Managers are fully informed of results, statuses and application deviations from documented user requirements.
Required Skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
- Quality assurance and quality control and testing experience
- Experience in IT development projects and associated software tools
- Experience in documenting requirements traceability matrices and other project/product documentation
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
